Gail an, a dark green vegetables wit crispy steams and slightly sweet, also known as Chinese broccoli, normally stir fried with sauces in Chinese cooking. It tastes awesome!
7oz. gai lan (Chinese broccoli)
1 tsp crushed ginger
1/2 tsp sugar
2 tsp Chinese cooking wine
2 tsp fish sauce
Canola oil for frying
Rinse gai lan under running water, remove hard steams and any brown leaves, drained.
Peel ginger and crushed, set aside.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together ginger, Chinese cooking wine and sugar, stirring completely and then sift with a slotted spoon. In another bowl, get fish sauce ready.
Heat wok to high at medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp canola oil, when oil is hot, add gai lan, stir fry fast until dark green.
Pour ginger and cooking wine mixture, continue cook until well combined.
Add fish sauce, whisk around for seconds until Chinese broccoli was completely coated with sauces, transfer and serve hot with cooked rice.
